Brent is heavily influenced by the alternativ country rock scene known to some people as "no depression". This means we have all the albums of Jayhawks, Wilco, Gram Parsons and lots of other bands associated with these names. We are no strangers to sweet huminglike tunes, straight up rock, harmony singing, fiddles, mandolines, strings, and so forth, alongside the classic line up.

I was a substitute teacher and made the class do drawings of spring as I was getting ready to go to the studio with this one for the first time. I had to come up with the words quickly, and with so much spring in the air, this is what came out. A letter from Ron to his loved one, saying "don't give up, we can make it". Ben

I was reading Paul Austers "Timbuktu" the summer I wrote this one. I especially liked the section where the question arises, are dogs sent from God to assist human beings? Dog is God spelt backwards, right, and that led me thinking along the lines that led to these lyrics. Ben
